[Martenlist] Comments in Marten and more?

Adrian and Kurt:

Marten case windows do accept comments. To create a comment, hold down
the Control and Command keys simultaneously and then click in the Case
Window where you want the comment.

Currently only Case Windows handle comments and they are not attached
to any object in the window. They are just free floating. We have
held off on "Prograph CPX" style comments (where the comment is
attached to an operation or root/terminal icon in the Case Window or
attached to a list item in a List Window) because it will require a
change to the underlying data structures that are stored on disk. That
would in turn require all sections of a project to be updated.

While this is not that onerous for us and for users, we have waited
until we have a wish list of added features (like storing the last
window size of a Value Window) before updating the object model. One
problem with this is that it has made it too easy for us to put off
adding these features, so Jack and I will certainly discuss your
suggestions.

Our near-term plans are to clean up the libraries to use the new C Tool
export format and then release an Alpha version of Marten 1.4. This
should happen within the next couple of weeks. The major new
functionality with this Alpha will be the ability to create Universal
binaries and the online help. If we can, we will try to get some of
your other suggestions in as well but that depends on the time
available to us.
